All adults with learning difficulties
should have the opportunity to access
a wide range of training and
day care activities.
A key ingredient of life at an FI home is the range of activities and opportunities (educational, work-based and personal interest) available at the Fifth Trust day centres.
Each student has an individual program, which is designed specifically for them and takes into account personal preferences and abilities. These programs enable the students to learn a variety of skills enhancing their confidence, personal skills and self-esteem. The programs give them the opportunity to contribute to their home lives as well as to the wider community.
There are also opportunities to learn horticultural skills, to undertake volunteer work in the local community and to attend colleges and education centres.
At the Vineyard a traditional Tea Shop and a new Plant and Garden Centre are open 7 days per week to the public, each staffed, on weekdays, by residents and students.
From time to time the Day centres will have space for local residents who might benefit from the activities we offer at the two centres.
