Welcome to the Vineyard.

Students can come to help maintain Canterbury’s oldest Vineyard. The students are involved in the maintenance and landscaping of the grounds at the Vineyard. Students are also involved with their instructors in the viticulture of the vines.

The aim of the unit is for students  to learn about growing and maintaining plants, not just the vines  but also sowing and tending flowers and vegetables.

The maintenance programme at the vineyard encompasses: painting, strimming, mowing, cleaning, raking, weeding, and seasonal tasks. We have also taken students to see other Kentish Vineyards, such as Tenterden and Biddenden.

The grape harvest is the highlight of the Vineyard calendar. We make a celebration of the fruit picking, in which everyone joins in.
